A brilliant, lucid analysis of the scandalous financial legerdemain at  
the heart of a major public institution in the decadent phase of neo- 
liberalism. Bob Meister - master indeed of political and social  
thought at Santa Cruz - exposes the real face of UC behind the clown  
mask of its sexton-president Yudof. As such it is not only a call to  
the students and people of California for immediate action but  
deserves to be sent far and wide as a model of critical inquiry into  
the vampiric practices of late capitalism. IB
