| To: Retort Via: SZ/DW MARCH 4th ACTIONS IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA What? Many independently organized rallies, protests, teach-ins, direct action, and walk-outs will be taking place throughout the SF Bay Area as part of the statewide Strike and Day of Action. The day was first called in California and will now be taking place nationwide in about 20 other states. These actions are organized independently of the coalition of unions that plan to have a rally at the San Francisco Civic Center—publicly owned property to be auctioned soon—and Oakland’s Frank Ogawa Plaza that will begin at the end of the workday at 5 pm. Who? An independent coalition of organizations, faculty, students, staff, and individuals from the UC, CSU, community colleges and public schools throughout Northern California. Why?
